"FIRST-CLASS OR NOT AT ALL"

The Quilt

From the left, this is Linda Graves, Pam Dunham and the Cupcake Princess [Sharon Frazier]. These three ladies are the wives of SSS members Lee Graves, Bob Dunham and me, Les Frazier. They designed the queen-sized quilt you see on the wall behind them. The idea was to construct a quilt, sell raffle tickets on it and draw the winning name at the 2011 reunion [reunion sign-up sheet]. The quilt will be completed late this year and on display at the reunion; the drawing will be at our reunion banquet. You do not have to be present to win and you can buy as many tickets as you want, but you do have to be an SSS member to buy tickets. Tickets are a buck a piece, six for $5.00 and so on.

Once we pay for the quilt materials and the expert guidance and quilting from the ladies who quilt for Handcrafts Unlimited in Georgetown, Texas, the proceeds of the raffle will go towards the museum we are working with in Gilmer, Texas. Anyone with quilting experience or would like to learn more about the art and techniques of quilting are invited to drop by Handcrafts Unlimited, on the south side of the square in Georgetown, Texas on Thursday afternoons [in Texas, most of the County Seats are built around a square where the county court house is situated and Georgetown is the county seat and has a square. Stores surround the square on all four sides and Handcrafts Unlimited is on the south side, the store front facing the court house. If your directions are confused, the statue of the Confederate soldier, on the lawn of the Court House, is on the south side, facing south and is looking at Crafts Unlimited.

If you want tickets or just make a donation, send your money to the Cupcake Princess at:

Make your check out to the Super Sabre Society and put "Quilt" down in the memo section of the check. Please do not send dues or make your check out for anything other than the number of tickets you want to buy [unless you're making a donation for the quilt, then please specify you're making a donation]. We'll will send you your part of the ticket and put the other part in the ticket drawing jar. It would be helpful if you'd send us enough "return address labels" to put on the back of your tickets that go into the jar. You know the ones I mean, those return address labels that are sent to you gratuitously by various charity organizations.
